Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson One of 16 Senators to Help Duterte Make Philippines Great Again

Panfilo ‘Ping’Lacson is one of the Philippine Senators that I admired most. He started his career as Senator in 2001 to 2013. And had won again for the senatorial position on May 9, 2016 polls as an independent candidate. And during the Senate Inquiry on the ExtraJudicial Killings, Panfilo Lacson has shown his dedication and fairly judgement to the witnesses presented by the Senator De Lima.

When the Committee made the decision to replace the chairmanship of Justice on Human Rights, Panfilo Lacson did not hesitate to cast his vote favoring Senator Gordon as the new Chairman of Justice on Human Rights Committee to replace Senator De Lima who at that time has made her first dramatic walked out from the Senate floor when caught coaching and overprotecting the controversial witness Mr. Edgar Matobato and got mad when Senator Cayetano made his statement on his privilege speech that the Committee is being used to destroy President Duterte.

Senator Lacson’s decision was his best decision made together with other 15 Senators, who have casted their votes favoriting Senator Dick Gordon for the Chairmanship of Justice replacing Senator De Lima – 16 votes for Senator Gordon against 4+2-2 votes to retain Senator De Lima on Chairmanship position. Thousands of Filipinos have witnessed the said event happened in the Senate and they have even concluded that those 16 Senators are the rightful Senators who would help and would support the newly elected President Duterte on his fight against drugs, corruptions and other crimes in the country.

Who was Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson before he became a Senator? Did you know that Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson’s known as Terminator?

On November 18, 1999, the former president of the Philippines Joseph Ejercito Estrada appointed Panfilo Lacson as the new Philippine National Police Chief (PNP). The Supreme Court recognized his appointment while the Cabinet members and the Congress claimed that his appointment was not lawfully approved by the Committee on Appointments prescibed by the law. It was also criticized by Human Advocates who accused him involved on the purported execution of 11 suspected members of Kidnap-Robbery Gang in 1995.

When Lacson was apointed to the top PNP post, he cited, I quote “It would be the start of a miserable life. I know I will lose a lot of friends, even if I will create new enemies. It is a contradiction that I will live with that those I will fight, I do not hate, and that those I will protect, I do not love. I don’t care if I am left only by 50,000 men and women doing the job of law enforcement so long as they are honest in performing duties and professional police in the police force. It is the call of duty that matters.”

But the most widely applauded speech of his by the public was in the turnover of command at the PNP Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City on November 18, 1999. Lacson said in a speech, “The rank of untouchable in the police organization should be clean up, they are corrupt who become body of law of criminals elements.”
