Honestly speaking, I was once a candid supporter of former President Fidel V. Ramos. During his six years in office from 1992 to 1998, were his glory days. According to our history, he was widely credited and admired for revitalizing and renewing international confidence in the Philippine economy. The Philippines experienced a period of political stability and rapid growth and expansion. Under his leadership, the Philippines was labeled by various internationally as Asia’s Next Economic Tiger.

Now, he is already 88 years old and yet, still he is too active on sharing of his insightful thoughts and ideas regarding to some political issues that matter to him as well as to offer his thoughtful advice to Philippine leader like President Duterte and other politicians. Yes. He was once a good leader and his experiences and achievements can tell how good he was during his glory days. Under his leadership he secured major peace agreements with Muslim Separatists, Communist Insurgents and Military rebels, which renewed investor confidence in the Philippine economy.

Of course, I am happy to see the former President Ramos is still open for any discussion with other leaders and had used his time to give some of his good points and advice to them. However, I feel not comfortable at all to see him insisting his ideas to the present leader and when his ideas are ignored, he would have to change his tone and emotions against the person whom he has given the advice.

Yes. I cannot just deny it that the former President Fidel V. Ramos had enjoyed his glory days. But why he cannot let President Duterte to have his now? And let God, the Filipino people and history to judge President Duterte. He is the newly elected president now of the Philippines and he has the responsibility which is no longer the responsibility of former president Ramos. I just hope that former President Ramos should relax now and just enjoy his remaining days.
